Hi all again! haha =DDD. guess who LLOOLL! well! we are trying to get our proposals across but there are some implications involved so we nid to...sort them out asap! haha. even if we dun get in or sth =/ (touchwood! haha), we will give your suggestions to the SHSCs who get in eventually! and if we can help...we will play a part in these proposals! haha. but well!
School maps
- We will try to put a school map like in the foyer or sth so that people who come into the school will know how to get around school? (cause some parent din know there was a jnr high block at all -.-)
- Implication: We need to ask the GO first! just in case the school got terrorist (TOUCHWOOD!) or sb den can go around the school v easily. But this should be done quite easily ;)
And well! for the buses from Aljunied right...many people feel that it's abit too ex! so we're going to push SBS further! haha. to try make the frequency of buses improve. (the school suggested and asked from SBS le! don't worry ppl! it will improve =/ but it's a matter of time though =/). But maybe a short term plan before they initiate it will be the bus! =/
and the sweets in class thing...we can assure cleanliness! if you guys only eat soft and hard candy without sugar or anyting that drops. but..it's hard to control you guys T.T soo...we'll think of a better way to keep you guys awake in class (for those who really want to keep yourself awake haha)!

Thank you for everyone's support and suggestions/comments! Especially to the one who posted that lengthy reply in one of our surveys, we really do appreciate it!
An update about the things we suggested:
i) Canteen crowded-nessActually, right after we thought of packed lunches, we had another idea that somehow never ended up on the blog.-Collating every class' timetables and taking note of which SH free periods clashes with JH lunch breaks/recesses. Getting SH and JH students to take note of those timeslots so that they can find alternative places to study/eat/chat.eg. Kampung Arang (for SH students who have long free periods)-Encouraging JH & SH students to eat from school hostel canteen occasionallyMeanwhile, we will moniter updates from the school on the completion of the student lounge and study rooms. JH students, many SH students have moved to other parts of the school to study, while other SH students, please try to be more considerate and leave the canteen/share tables/let the JH students -- who only have 1/2 hour to eat -- use the canteen tables.
ii) ToiletsAs this is a new campus, we have not heard much complains about the school toilets. However, we will try to address the concerns some of you have about them. Meanwhile, things such as water being splashed on the ground, rubbish and *things* inside the toilet bowl, students have to play a part and BE CONSIDERATE.-Increase frequency of re-filling toilet paper.-Ensure school has regular maintenence of school toilets.iii) Auditorium tablesFor the sake of giving deserved credit, I hope the school -- or at least the SH -- has noticed that the auditorium tables do not SQUEAK as much as before thanks to another campaigning group who took the time to oil them. Appreciate their efforts and keep the auditorium (as well as other parts of the school) clean and functional.
iv) 158 busUnbeknownst to majority of the school, the school (and some students) has already informed SBS about our 158 problems and they have sent people to take note of the situation. We might be able to hear of some changes soon, but until they are properly implemented, DHS students can help to alleviate their own problems.-Encourage students to maximise space usage in 158 bus (ie. carrying their bag in front of them while standing; stand alternately instead of just one long line in the walkway; SQUEEZE)-Speak out POLITELY when students notice the PUBLIC refusing to move in/MOVE IN as long as there is spacev) Birthday babies LUCKY DRAWFor JH students who do not know, we used to have SCs who would get Mr Sng to pick out from a lucky draw box a random number of a person whose birthday was during that month they were carrying out the LD. The person picked would get a 'birthday present'. It made school morning assemblies interesting.-Return the LD and try to persuade the school to sponser interesting gifts.We apologize if we seem to be just all-talk-no-action. We are trying our best to do something to show that we care for the school and EVERYONE in it. This blog is just a start.

Hi all again! As much as we wanna help, we hope you guys can help do our surveys! (click on the link navigation) so that we can present like...statistics to the teacher probably? haha. and well! many of the stuff are up in the school and we really have to thank campaigning grps for doing that! =D
School maps/directions are already placed around the school(though it's not by our grp =/)! Hope you guys will benefit more in days to come k =D

Problems in the school:
9) JH canteen packagewe wanna...- Help JH students in having a proper recess/lunch when they need itwe suggest...- Start an ordering system; fill up a form to order food from a particular stall and submit it in the morning right after flag raising. Stall holders can prepare the food for that stipulated timing and JH students can just collect the food and eat without queuing for too long.inspired by 4D'o8

Please take note that we are not implementing these until we've garnered enough support for said suggestion. And that YES we are try to help the WHOLE SCHOOL, not just senior high alone. :)

These ideas are just suggestions from us and/or your school mates. Strong support is needed as well as the confirmed nod from the school. Hey people! =D We realised that there are some...problems that can be solved to help you guys feel like...more comfortable :) Also! We got some events that we will plan if you guys are interested! We will ask around for your comments first before implementing any of the above! haha. Feel free to tell us any unhappiness you have about our plans or about the school in general! We will do our best to help! =D
As for the problems we have in school, we have....
1) Lack of space in canteen
So we wanna...
- Reduce human jam and lack of seats in canteen
- Provide SH with a more conducive place to study
And we suggest and will try to...
- Put tables outside classroom block, on the red tiles like in past DHS.
- Speed up construction/opening of student lounge
2) Classrooms - NO CURTAINS!
We wanna...
– Provide curtains for classes who have any discomfort from the sun. (Please tell us if you do!) and also for Uniform Groups, especially for overnight camps and probably...changing?
3) Aljunied bus stop between 715-745:
We wanna...
- Prevent competition of buses of working adults and students
- Minimize the human jam up the buses and at the bus stop
- Reduce wastage of time – like MISSING our dear 158 buses
We suggest...
- Parents fetching their kids to school help fetch students from Aljunied bus stop? =/
- Bus service from Aljunied MRT to school – 715am and 730am! (trying to reduce the price!)
4) Bus service for people living in West Coast/ VERY FAR from school
- We need to ask around who actually needs the service first! (if you think you really need the service, please tell us! and we will do our best to arrange for you!)
5) Sweets in class!
For those who always doze off in class unintentionally! We are asking the teachers if students can eat sweets in class! So that we won't fall asleep in class - we can CHEW ON IT! =D (Many people wanna hear but really...cant help it! right? =D)
Anyway! We are thinking of implementing such stuff in school:
1) Penpal System:
We wanna...
- Widen students social circle among students from the same cohort
So it's basically...
- You are given a name of someone in your cohort and you just write messages to the person! Then you can get us to mail it for you :) (Something like angel and mortal just that the people you get are by random)
- And if this plan succeeds, we can explore working with other JCs

2) Art Competition/Exhibition
We wanna...
- Showcases talents in art and explore art in various catergories e.g. shoe-designing, manga drawing - Strengthen art culture in DHS
And we will be/might be in the form of an Inter-house competition (see your interest!)
